VAUN MONROE
Vaun Monroe is the Executive Director of Theater, Film and Drama at Wiley College. Monroe has also won the James Pendleton Fellowship in Screenwriting, and was a finalist in the Nicholl Screenwriting Contest with the feature length screenplay Instrument of God. Monroe was previously a development executive and feature film story consultant for Ithaca Entertainment. Vaun was Artistic Director at Chicago Scriptworks, President of the National Association of Black Screenwriters and one of the founding members of EDIT MEDIA, a faculty-driven initiative dedicated to researching, developing, and educating about best practices in inclusive teaching in college-level media production. Monroe’s production of Ceremonies in Dark Old Men won several categories including Best Director and Best Production at the 2013 Black Theater Alliance Awards.
