Anjola Coker was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and immigrated to the U.S. at 9-years-old.  She is a spoken word poet who writes and performs to share the humanity of others. Living in three countries, and many states, including New York where she attended the University of Albany, this has shaped her passion for young people, immigrants and underserved communities. She hopes to learn how to marry her creative gifts with social justice and be better equipped to lead when needed, and follow when necessary.
